I'm having the same issue the only way I can get it to work is by copying the world from original terraria but then my mods don't generate with the world, ive even tried copying the seed from the actual FTW world and it wont generate an FTW world.Master mode took me around 50ish hours to complete, there wasn't really that difficult of boss AI and you can destroy most bosses easily with high mobility and summoner. FTW was a bit more difficult then that, but once you know the AI of these enemies it'll be easier, which took me around 100ish hours.

Recently, I have tried a classic difficulty with a for the worthy seed, and feel it may be comparable for the difficulty in expert mode of a random world (but the difficulty should still be less than master mode) More difficult in FTW: Higher damage for most mobs (~2.7X vs 2X in expert) and other damage source (like falling damage)
